EmpowHer.com is a new online health community for women with the mission of bridging the gap that exists in access to care. Our web site will include a comprehensive section on all health issues important to women. One of our major areas of interest is breast cancer, and we wholeheartedly support the mission behind the BeMitt to spread awareness of early breast cancer detection. We are thrilled to offer the BeMitt on our site.
In addition to creating a dynamic health community for women, we will house all free and low cost health events that are happening around the country. One of our main goals is to provide all consumers, health providers and organizations easy access to health programs and resources throughout the country.
Overall, we are dedicated to bridging the gap in access to care. We feel that this issue is a major one in our country and around the world. Our founder, Michelle Robson, had a debilitating health experience a few years ago following a hysterectomy and spent an entire year seeing nine different specialists and taking a dozen different medications before she found the help she needed to get her life back. Because of her experience, she vowed to help increase access to care as well as awareness of health issues since people shouldn't suffer the way she did.
