A BeMitt (pronounced "bee mitt") is a revolutionary new designed to encourage and improve self breast examinations. It fits on your hand and glides over your breast, reducing friction and enhancing sense of touch, allowing you increased sensitivity to detect irregularities. |
|
The BeMitt helps provide women with the education, technique and the resources for performing a thorough breast self-exam while serving as a continuous reminder to perform breast self exams (BSE) each and every month. Familiarizing yourself with how your breasts normally feel enables you to detect changes in the breast tissue. Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer.
You eat right, exercise, and you probably take preventative health measures in many other aspects of your life... So it’s about time you paid attention to a very much-overlooked area of preventative health care … Breast Self-Exam! |

"As a husband and father of two girls, I want to do everything I can to protect them through the years. As a physician I know that health education includes cancer detection. Familiarity with your own breasts through regular self breast-examinations is not only safe, it makes sense. The BeMitt is a special tool that safely enhances your own ability and the ability of your physician to perform the crucial breast examinations. You will be amazed!" --

It is undeniable that early detection of breast cancer saves lives. The three mainstays available to women to find the smallest and earliest of cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions are: breast self examination monthly, and mammogram combined with clinical breast examination yearly. With respect to self breast examination, almost 70% of all palpable breast masses are first discovered by the woman herself and then brought to her doctor's attention. Despite these facts, only one in three women regularly practices breast self examination.
The BeMitt is an elegantly simple device that encourages and empowers women to take control of this important facet of good breast health. |
